ABOUT
Lucy Hall is a freelance theatre designer, artist, and senior lecturer in Design for Performance at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama. She lives in Wales with her four children.
Lucy trained at Central School of Art (now part of UAL) in London with Pamela Howard and at NYU Tisch School of the Arts, New York. She has worked as a set and costume designer for theatres in Britain and abroad, including Theatre Genedlaethog, Theatre Clwyd, Ambassadors Theatre, Gielgud Theatre and Arts Theatre in the West End, Royal Court Theatre, Hampstead Theatre, Gate Theatre, National Theatre Studio, Sheffield Crucible, Glasgow Citizens, Stephen Joseph Theatre Scarborough, Salisbury Playhouse, Bath Theatre Royal, English Touring Theatre, English Touring Opera, Theatre Projects Tokyo, and Copenhagen Opera.
Lucy was the recipient of the Bunkacho government fellowship for artists from abroad, allowing her to spend a year in Japan studying traditional Japanese theatre. She has been involved in numerous theatre in education projects co-ordinated by The South Bank Centre, Royal Court Theatre and English Touring Opera and has held Artist Residencies in a variety of educational settings. Lucy graduated with distinction from an MA in Fine Art at the University of the West of England and continues to develop her Fine Art practice alongside teaching and designing.
Lucy has a PGCE and became a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (FHEA) in 2018.
